The Indiana School Board will have a lot to discuss tonight during their voting meeting and a committee meeting that will come before it.
The Audit and Finance Committee will meet at 5:30, and on the agenda for that meeting is a projection of the 2023-24 capital budget and a discussion on tax rates for that school year. The committee is looking to have the proposed budget up for adoption on May 22nd. Based on those discussions, the board may take action on approving top security enhancements that were presented at a recent safety audit. It would also empower the administration to take action to implement the recommendations. Any individual upgrades would be brought to the board for its approval. Also as part of that, the board may hire three additional armed security guards through Bramlet Enterprises at a cost of $165,000 a year.
The board will also look at approving district participation in the PAYS survey for 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th graders, and approving simulation training for six principals at Forest Hills School District in mid-June.
The meeting starts at 7:00 tonight in the district board room.
