Indiana County Sheriff Bob Fyock is reminding area residents about an ordinance that prohibits jumping from a popular Indiana County bridge.
Ordinance number 102589 prohibits pedestrians from occupying or standing on Allen Bridge, which is a county bridge in Cherryhill Township and crosses Twolick Reservoir and Allen Run. No one is allowed to cross the bridge by foot or occupy the bridge by standing, jumping from, lying on or using the bridge except for emergency crossing or crossing by vehicular traffic. Anyone who violates this ordinance is subject to a fine of up to $1000, ten days in jail or both.
People are also reminded about county parks and rec rules concerning RVs in county parks. No motor vehicles are allowed in any county park unless they are registered, and that they stay on established areas for RV Trailers, motor homes, or any other trailers, wagons or buggies. Violators face fines between $25 and $300, up to ten days in jail, or both. Also, violators would also be responsible for paying the costs of repairs if anything is damaged.
