The county’s municipal courts are expected to be busy today with preliminary hearings on the schedule, including hearings for two Allegheny County men charged in an incident earlier this month at a White Township car wash.
Court documents show that 21-year-old Gerald Jeffries and 26-year-old Rashaun Delige, both of White Oak, were charged with illegal firearms possession, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, illegal possession of a weapon and possession of a small amount of marijuana. The two were picked up by police after an incident at the Wash Werkz car wash on Oakland Avenue on April 2nd. Officers said the two had approached an un-named man, with one brandishing a gun and the other a baseball bat. One other customer fled the scene out of fear. Jeffres allegedly hid one gun under the car as police arrived. Police found marijuana in the car, along with the bat and a second handgun. Both have been in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail since the incident.
Also due in court today are:
- 31-year-old Brian Reed of Northern Cambria, who is charged with strangulation, simple assault and harassment for an incident on March 5th. Police said he was involved in an argument with a 47-year-old Black Lick woman when he punched her in the eye and shoved her into a wall. He continued to assault her and strangled her to the point where she could not breathe.
- 22-year-old Dayjure Stewart of Indiana, who is charged with criminal trespass, resisting arrest, criminal mischief-damaging property, and disorderly conduct for the incident on October 23rd. Police said Stewart went out to his girlfriend’s apartment on Grove Lane in White Township and kicked in both the main door and a bathroom door. He also became verbally combative with police as he was handcuffed and resisted arrest as he was taken into custody. Stewart has been in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $5000 bail since then.
