Members of the public were invited to the KCAC on Tuesday for a public meeting regarding an update to the Indiana County Active Transportation Plan.
The update, titled Walk, Bike, Ride, Roll!, highlighted existing conditions of different trails and roadways around the county, and the measures taken by the Indiana County Office of Planning and Development to garner feedback on what types of active transportation projects residents want to see implemented. Deputy Director Josh Krug said the planning committee held several regional meetings as a way to get interest and one thing he noticed was the southern part of Indiana County yielded a wider response.
The update now moves to the Indiana County Commissioners for 45 days for which local school districts and municipalities will make comment on the plan for consideration. Residents and stakeholders will also be invited to submit input. Krug then described the plans for after the 45-day period.
The Active Transportation Plan update is available by logging on to the Office of Planning and Development website, icopd.org. It can also be accessed here.
