The final week of state budget hearings gets underway on Tuesday before the Senate and House Appropriations committees.
The week kicks off with Tuesday appearances before the Senate committee by the Department of Community and Economic Development and the Department of Corrections and Board of Parole and Pardons. Also on Tuesday, the House committee will devote the entire day’s testimony to the Department of Human Services.
The highlight of the week is expected to be Friday’s final sessions, when the Governor’s Budget Office appears before both committees. Representative Jim Struzzi said last week that since the Shapiro administration is new to office, many of the department representatives have deferred substantive discussion to the Governor’s Budget Office, so there will lots of questions directed toward them this Friday.
