The Indiana School Board will hold the Buildings, Grounds and Transportation Committee meeting tonight, and on the agenda are several items related to the Eisenhower Elementary Project.
Among the topics to be discussed at tonight’s meeting is an Act 34 Hearing timeline. The Act 34 hearing is a public hearing that will give people the chance to give comment on the Eisenhower project. One had been scheduled for last November, but it was cancelled amid updated costs of the project. The delay gave more time for the school board, the district’s administration, and architectural firm Buchart Horn Architects a chance to review the project. The act applies to all new buildings and buildings with substantial additions. Maximum building construction costs, school building capacity, and aggregate building expenditures are all items examined via this process.
Tonight is not the hearing itself, but the committee will discuss the timeline of events for that meeting and any activity after it.
Other items connected with the Eisenhower project include a temporary easement agreement and an update on a system that is designed to deter geese gathering at the site.
The meeting is slated to start at 5:30 in the district board room, and is open to the public. It will also be streamed on the district’s website, www.iasd.cc.
