The road construction season continues to accelerate, with a number of projects involving Route 422 in Indiana and Armstrong counties.
Starting tomorrow, PennDOT says the bridge rehabilitation project on 422 over Two Lick Creek in White Township will get started. The deck and bearings will be replaced and the steel structures of the bridge will get fresh paint. Drivers should expect lane closures in both directions from the Oakland Avenue interchange in White Township to the Route 954 South 6th Street interchange. It’s a $9 million project scheduled for completion this November, and the work is weather dependent.
The Margaret Road Intersection Improvement Project continues on Route 422 and Margaret Road in Armstrong County. From tomorrow through April 24th, crews will be working from 7 PM each weeknight to 5 o’clock the following morning , installing drainage and rebuilding roadway shoulders. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane controlled by flaggers. After the 24th, a temporary barrier will be placed to begin construction of a temporary road.
Closer to Kittanning, a Route 422 resurfacing project gets underway tomorrow from the Graf Bridge intersection to the Route 28/85/1038 intersection.
