After two months of searching, the United Way of Indiana County has found its next Executive Director.
According to a news release, the United Way announced the appointment of Angela Jackson as the organization’s new Executive Director. She takes over for Jane Lockard, who announced her plan to retire back in January.
Prior to her appointment, Jackson served as the organization’s Director of Marketing and Resource Development, a role she held since March of 2020. In that role, Jackson assisted in all marketing, public relations, volunteer engagement, community outreach, and event planning and execution. She’s also credited for implementing an online giving and event platform which helped the United Way surpass its annual fundraising goals in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
Board President Mike Drew said in the release that Jackson’s “education and prior work experience both with the United Way and other community service organizations … made her the best candidate for the Executive Director [role] with the UWIC.”
Jackson takes over the position today, which marked Lockard’s retirement date.
