From Lou Sacco, Chief of Police, Blairsville Borough Police Department
On 3-28-23 shortly after 4 pm, the Blairsville Borough Police Department responded to a strong-armed robbery along South East Lane in Blairsville Borough. According to police, a juvenile was assaulted and chased before having his bicycle stolen by three males who were wearing face covering. Upon further investigation, police were able to identify three individuals as one adult male and two juvenile males. The adult male, Jordyn Kirkland 18 years old of Blairsville, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, corruption of minors, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. The 16 year old was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and the 17 year old was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and receiving stolen property. The juvenile victim did not receive treatment for his injuries.
On 3-20-23 when the Blairsville Borough Police went to serve the arrest warrant on Jordyn Kirkland of Blairsville at his residence, police found approximately two ounces of marijuana, a scale, baggies, and numerous amounts of drug paraphernalia. Kirkland was not at his residence but was apprehended later that evening without incident. He was lodged in Indiana County Jail and arraigned before District Magistrate Christopher Welch and remains in jail on $25,000 bond. Kirkland will be receiving additional charges of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia for the drugs and paraphernalia found in plain view at the residence.
