Pennsylvania U.S. Senator John Fetterman is expected to return to the senate on April 17th.
Fetterman had checked himself into Walter Reed National Medical Center on February 16th for treatment for clinical depression. Those close to the senator say that he has been steadily improving, and that his stay in Walter Reed was lengthy because doctors wanted to make sure that his medication to treat his depression was effective.
Since he checked himself into the hospital, Fetterman has kept up with the events of the Senate with frequent visits from office staff. He has also received visits from his family during his time at Walter Reed.
The treatments came a few days after he was admitted to the hospital for dizziness. He was also admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke while he ran for senate last year.
Officials with Fetterman’s office said that he is expected to be as good as or better than he was feeling on his best days post-stroke.
