PennDOT has announced that District 10 was recently recognized by the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) for its work on a bridge replacement in neighboring Armstrong County.
According to a news release, District 10 was awarded the 2022 Outstanding Highway Engineering Award from ASHE for its efforts in the Brady’s Run Bridge #3 Project in Gilpin Township. The bridge, built in 1971, originally connected communities through a single-span, one-lane bridge, but now carries approximately 256 cars per day using two 10-foot traffic lanes with two to three-and-one-quarter inch shoulders.
ASHE’s Mid-Allegheny Chapter will present the award to members of District 10 at their meeting in May.
