Officials with PennDOT announced on Monday that the traffic detour at the Margaret Road intersection in Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County, has been delayed.
The stretch of road between Route 422 and Sunken Valley Road was scheduled to be closed on April 1st for crews to relocate utilities, install drainage and construct the pier for the new bridge, however that has been postponed to April 10th. PennDOT did not say why the project was postponed, but it is still expected to run through the end of June.
The project will provide roadway realignment and improvement of the existing intersection along the Route 422 corridor between Indiana and Kittanning, and it replaces an existing four-way intersection with a T-intersection relocated at a point approximately 1,600 feet to the west of the existing intersection.
The planned detour will utilize Routes 422, 210 and 85 along with Margaret Road.
