A proposed bill in the PA Senate would give those who use the PA Turnpike a 50% refund on their tolls.
Senate Bill 419 would give turnpike drivers half of the money they spent on tolls back to them in the form of a tax credit up to $500. This comes after another toll hike happened at the start of the year, when prices went up by 5% for both E-Z Pass and Toll By Plate customers. Another toll hike is projected in 2025 and hikes may continue until the year 2050. Drivers and companies would be required to send in receipts and an application by September 15th of each year to qualify for the credit.
The bill has been referred to the state senate finance committee.
