Senator Joe Pittman serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee, and he says a series of budget hearings is set to begin on March 20th in Harrisburg. The hearings will last until April 14th.
The schedule the first week will include the Department of Revenue and the Independent Fiscal Office on Monday, Conservation and Natural Resources and State Treasurer on Tuesday, Environmental Protection and Auditor General on Wednesday, and Attorney General on Thursday. Other highlight hearings will be on Wednesday and Thursday, March 29th and 30th, with the Education Department taking the whole day on Wednesday and the state-related universities and State System of Higher Education scheduled on Thursday.
