UPDATE AT 8:30 AM: One person was injured in a crash on Route 422 in Shelocta.
Indiana Fire Assistant Chief Ron Moreau confirmed two vehicles were involved in the crash outside Mumau Diesel in Shelocta. Both lanes of traffic were blocked as crews worked to clear the scene. One person was airlifted to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment. One lane of traffic has reopened and crews are still working to get the damaged vehicles towed.
WHAT WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED
Traffic is blocked in both directions on Route 422 in Shelocta this morning for a reported vehicle crash.
Elderton fire department, Citizens Ambulance and State Police were dispatched at 7:35 this morning to a crash near Mumau Diesel Service on Route 422 in Shelocta. Indiana Fire Association was dispatched about eight minutes later to provide assistance on-scene. Initial scanner reports said one person was reported trapped in a vehicle involved in the crash. A landing zone for a medical has also been requested for Shelocta Community Park.
