With the trade deadline looming, Penguins general manager Ron Hextall was active this morning as he reportedly brought a familiar face back to the organization.
Reports surfaced this morning that the Penguins acquired center Nick Bonino from the San Jose Sharks. The 34-year-old was an integral part in the team’s Stanley Cup championship wins in 2016 and 2017 and spent time with Nashville, Minnesota, and San Jose. He had 10 goals with the Sharks this season.
The team has not officially announced the trade yet.
