A Saltsburg man is charged with aggravated assault after a stabbing Wednesday evening in Ebensburg.
41-year-old Victor Lee Kealey is accused of stabbing the female victim, who has not been publicly identified, at around 5:30 PM in the parking lot of the Cambridge Ebensburg Retirement Community. Police say he approached the woman’s vehicle and asked if she had jumper cables. When she said she did not, he allegedly stabbed her and walked away from the scene. Police found him in the parking lot in the driver’s seat of a white sedan with a woman in the front passenger seat and a dog in the back. When they confronted him, he asked if they knew what he did and told them to shoot him. When officers said they would not, he threatened to stab them. Police used a taser to subdue Kealey and it was discovered that he was in possession of multiple knives, including the one used in the stabbing.
In addition to felony aggravated assault, Kealey faces three misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, single misdemeanor counts of simple assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, and disorderly conduct, and a summary charge of harassment.
He was ordered held at the Cambria County Prison after failing to post ten percent of $100,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for March 21st.
