On Tuesday night, the River Valley School Board got an update on the bids for a project concerning the district’s new athletic complex.
Board president Rick Harper said during his report from the buildings and grounds committee said that Tuesday was the day that bids were to be opened for phases one and two for the athletic complex project, but Harper said that only one company placed a bid, and that bid was over budget.
Football will continue to be played at Ernie Widmar Field at Memorial Stadium for 2023, and the board will also look for a logical place for the team to practice.
In other business, the board approved with regret the resignation of Saltsburg Elementary Teacher Timothy Frassenei, who has served the district for 25 years.
