The State System of Higher Education Board of Governors met last week, after the State System had earlier hosted a seminar on the new plan to start a credentialing program at its universities.
At the board meeting, faculty union president Dr. Kenneth Mash spoke about the credentialing plan, asking questions about how it would work, costs, commitments of time and energy by faculty members, and some of APSCUF’s other concerns, but he indicated the union would remain open to it, calling the concept “interesting and potentially exciting.”
APSCUF and the State System are scheduled to have another negotiating session on a new labor contract on Tuesday, February 28.
