While yesterday’s court schedule was packed with DUI sentencing hearings, there were some sentencing hearings for other cases.
Among those sentenced yesterday was a man already serving time at the Westmoreland County Jail. 44-year-old Dennis Shank pleaded guilty in Indiana County Court to a charge of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver in January of this year, while two other charges were not prosecuted. He was ordered to serve two to five years in state prison for the guilty plea. He is currently serving time for drug-related crimes in Westmoreland County and was also accused of possessing an instrument of crime, procuring a weapon while in custody and institutional vandalism in a separate incident at the Westmoreland County Prison.
Also sentenced yesterday was 38-year-old Beverly Stewart of Indiana, who was charged with hindering apprehension. She was ordered to serve six months of probation. And 47-year-old Sheri Roller of Punxsutawney was ordered to serve four months to a day less than two years for a charge of access device fraud.
