A road in Plumcreek Township that had some utility lines moved has reopened ahead of schedule.
PennDOT says that Margaret Road had been closed between Route 422 and Sunken Valley Road as crews worked to move overhead utility lines underground as part of the intersection improvement project in the area. This is part of an ongoing project to provide roadway realignment to improve the existing intersection. This will incorporate two new structures consisting of a two-span steel girder bridge and a concrete box culvert. This will also replace a four-way intersection with a T-style intersection about 1600 feet west of the existing intersection. Numerous stormwater management facilities and new wetland areas will also be constructed through the project.
It’s expected to cost $25 million and will be complete in June of 2025.
