Pennsylvania’s freshman senator was taken to the hospital last night.
Senator John Fetterman was driven to George Washington Hospital by staffers on Wednesday after he started to feel lightheaded during a Senate Democratic Retreat. Initial tests show that he did not suffer a stroke, but they kept him overnight for observation. Fetterman was seen talking with staffers and family and it was said that he was in good spirits.
This comes after Fetterman suffered a stroke last May during his senate campaign. Doctors gave him an “all clear” after the stroke, saying that while he had auditory processing symptoms, he had no cognitive impairments and could work “full duty” in public office. Since joining the U.S. Senate, he has continued to use closed captioning services, similar to what was used during his debate with Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz.
