State Senator Joe Pittman has expressed his frustration with the state house not being in session to act on several pieces of legislation that have been worked on in the Senate.
The move to adjourn the house was made by recently-named House Speaker Mark Rozzi, and the next session will come a few weeks after three special elections in Allegheny County that are expected to name people to fill vacancies in three districts.
In an interview on Indiana in the Morning on Tuesday, Pittman said that with the state house not in session, three potential amendments to the PA Constitution may not be able to be advanced to the ballots in time for the spring primary. This includes an amendment that would have given survivors of childhood sexual abuse a two-year window to file civil claims in court beyond the expiration of the statute of limitations.
Pittman said that he shares the frustrations of some of the state representatives like Jim Struzzi, but he also says it affects activities in the senate as well.
Pittman was also upset with the fact that the Senate has done its part for the childhood sexual abuse amendment and the House Speaker has not.
The PA house is adjourned until February 27th .
