Two IUP basketball players have been named to the 2023 Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List, which was announced yesterday by Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee.
Guards Shawndale Jones and Dave Morris are two of five players from the PSAC on the list. It’s the seventh straight year the Crimson Hawks have had a player on the Top 100 list and the first season in which they’ve had two. Jones leads the PSAC in scoring at 19.6 points per game. Morris is averaging 18.2 points per game and leads the conference with 56 assists. Both Jones and Morris are two-time PSAC West Athletes of the Week.
The other PSAC players on the Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List are UPJ’s John Paul Kromka and East Stroudsburg’s Carlos Peppin and Lakeen McAiley.
The list will be trimmed to 50 players on February 15th, to 25 on March 15th, then to finalists on April 1st and the award winner will be crowned on April 3rd.
The IUP teams return to action on Wednesday with a doubleheader at the KCAC against Clarion.
