Gas prices across the nation, the state and in Indiana County are trending upward.
The national average is now at $3.28 a gallon. That represents a 9-cent jump from last week, but it is a seven-cent drop from last month, and a two-cent drop from last year. The Pennsylvania average is now $3.66, a four cent increase from last week, an 18-cent drop over the last month and a 14-cent jump from last year.
Triple-A says that robust demand has fueled the increase in the costs. Demand has gone up from 8.71 million barrels a day to 9.33 million. Total domestic gas stocks fell by 3.1 million barrels to 223 million.
Indiana County’s average went up two cents over the last week to $3.76 a gallon, tying with Clearfield County for the highest average in the region. The lowest regional average remains in Jefferson County at $3.72, with Westmoreland and Cambria Counties at $3.74 and Armstrong County at $3.75.
Gasbuddy reports that prices in Indiana range from $3.75 to $3.79. Homer City, Blairsville and Clymer prices are at $3.79 a gallon as of this morning.
