Mired in a four-game losing streak, the Penguins have touched down in Boston for tomorrow afternoon’s NHL Winter Classic against the Bruins, to be played in 50-degree temperatures at Fenway Park.
The game is a natural for the Penguins, who are owned by the Fenway Group, which also owns the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park and other sports enterprises.
The Penguins have lost four games in a row and have fallen into a three-way tie with the Isanders and Rangers for fourth place in the Metro Division. All three teams have 44 points in the standings. The Bruins, on the other hand, have the best record in hockey by far, 28-4, with 60 points.
