Indiana County First responders had a very busy day on Friday.
Along with a physical rescue that required Homer City and Indiana fire departments to assist with extrication of a trauma patient that happened Friday morning, Homer City Fire Department and Citizens’ Ambulance were called back out for another physical rescue at 11:22 a.m. along Twolick Farm Lane.
Indiana and Homer City firefighters would be dispatched again at 2:22 p.m. for a brush fire on Lower Twolick Drive. Officials said a fire got away from a fire ring and spread across dry grass and leaves on the ground. Crews were on the scene for about an hour. This marks the 72nd brush fire of the year in Indiana County.
Indiana fire crews were also called out for a reported structure fire on IRMC Drive in township at 3:56 p.m. The call turned into an odor investigation with fire officials finding that a piece of equipment at the Human Motion Institute had overheated.
Indiana firefighters were also dispatched for a carbon monoxide alarm at 7:57 p.m. on North Ben Franklin Road in West Wheatfield Township.
Clymer fire department and Citizens’ ambulance were also be dispatched this morning for a vehicle accident on Route 286 in Rayne Township. State Police were also called to the scene.
