One person died in a one-car crash along Route 981 in nearby Derry last night.
Westmoreland County coroner Timothy J. Carson identified the victim as 26-year-old Jacob Scott Mayer. The crash reportedly happened at 9:10 PM. Mayer’s death has been ruled accidental by the county corner. It was added that he was not wearing his seat belt at the time. The crash was discovered by a deputy coroner who was driving to an unrelated incident in Unity Township.
The coroner’s office and state police continue to investigate.
