Windy conditions are keeping wind chill temperatures at dangerously low levels on this Christmas Eve.
A wind chill warning remains in effect until noon today for Indiana county and much of Western Pennsylvania. Dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. AccuWeather meteorologist Matt Rinde said while the cold snap is will last through the Christmas holiday, a warm up is expected by the middle of next week.
The National Weather Service advises people to avoid outside activities if possible, but if you have to go outside, make sure you wear appropriate clothing, a hat and gloves. They also advise to keep pets indoors as much as possible.
