While the national average cost of a gallon of gas fell over the last week, Pennsylvania’s average also took a tumble.
The national average this morning is $3.09 a gallon according to AAA. That represents a 5-cent drop from last week, and a 49 cent drop from last month. The average is also 19 cents lower than it was a year ago. While National demand for gas increased by about half a million barrels a day, total domestic gas stocks grew by 2.5 million barrels. With demand remaining low drivers are likely to see pump prices continue to fall into the start of next year.
Pennsylvania’s average is $3.60 a gallon, which is an 8-cent decrease from last week. It also represents a 38 cent drop from last month. The state average is still higher than where it was last year by six cents.
Indiana County’s averages taking a slight dip over the last week, from $3.80 to $3.76. the lowest average in the region is in Jefferson County at $3.55. That’s followed by Clearfield County at $3.66 then Armstrong County at $3.73. Indiana county is tied with Westmoreland and Cambria counties for the highest average in the region at $3.76
Prices in Indiana, Homer City and Blairsville this morning are hovering around the $3.75 mark, while in Clymer, prices are at $3.85.
