A Marion Center student will get the chance to sing in Pittsburgh on New Year’s Eve.
According to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Marion Center Senior Maddie Buffone was named the winner of the Williams Sing-Off. Buffone has had an interest in musical theater for a long time, performing in numerous community musical productions over the course of 11 years. Maddie has said that her favorite role was playing Christine in a School production of “The Phantom of the Opera.” After high school she plans to pursue a degree in musical theater and continue to perform.
As part of her prize, Maddie will give the opening performance at Highmark’s First Night Pittsburgh. Her performance will be followed by a short performance by special guest judge Nick Cortazzo from the touring production of Hairspray.
