On Tuesday night, the Blairsville Borough Council approved the 2023 budget.
The budget balances at $2.2 million, with taxes holding steady at 4.41 mills. Borough manager Mike Baker said that it was tough to balance the budget with no tax increases.
Tuesday night also marked the final meeting for Baker as Borough Manager and Secretary. Jodi Poorbaugh was named the interim borough secretary, and Baker said some members of council will take turns filling the manager’s duties. Baker’s last day is the end of the week.
