The Marion Center School board will meet tonight and the district taxes for the 2023-2024 school year will be on the agenda.
The board will look to pass a resolution tonight to have any proposed tax increases for the next school year to not exceed the act 1 index of 5.90%. Other districts in the county have passed similar resolutions as a measure to protect taxpayers. The resolution does not lock the Marion Center School district into a tax increase for the next school year.
Also on the agenda tonight is the proposed purchase of a new truck with a plow, the approval of substitute teachers and the second reading of PSBA recommended policy revisions concerning non-school organizations, groups or individuals; dissemination of non-school materials; and the district distribution of literature form.
The meeting starts at 7:00 tonight at the high school library.
