One of the tenants displaced by a fire earlier this month in Indiana Borough is keeping a thoughtful and generous mindset throughout the holiday season.
Ethan Boyer, staff auditor at S&T Bank, took to the blistery sidewalks in front of the 700 Shop in downtown Indiana on Wednesday to volunteer with the annual Teddy Bear Fund Drive collection week, acting as a donation collector from noon until 2 p.m.

Boyer is familiar with the area. He grew up in Indiana and graduated from Indiana Area High School and IUP before moving into the apartment complex at 122 North 6th Street with his girlfriend Gabrielle Leysock, which was destroyed by a fire on December 2nd.
While Boyer, Leysock and their cat, Wes, made it out of the complex safely, they lost everything in the fire. Despite this, Boyer continues to have a positive mindset and offered to help with this year’s Teddy Bear Fund Drive as a way to give back to the community.
While Boyer helped with Wednesday’s collection, S&T Bank and the 700 Shop repaid his efforts by supplying him with some new work clothes, which he said he is very thankful for.
