Homer-Center’s superintendent announced last night that details on the district’s recent performance on statewide exams will be on display at next month’s school board meeting.
Superintendent Ralph Cecere said district’s data team will focus on the district’s recent academic success.
In other business, the board adopted revised policies concerning curriculum, curriculum review by parents/guardians and students, adoption of textbooks and resource materials.
The board did not offer comment on the recent events concerning a teacher in the district who was charged with child pornography-related crimes. Charles Kirkland of Derry Township was arraigned Monday on felony charges of child pornography, along with disseminating photos and/or film of child sex acts, and criminal use of a communications device. In a statement issued earlier this week, Cecere said that as it is now a legal matter, there would not be any comment from the district.
