Monday night, the Purchase Line School Board got an update on the current budget and passed a resolution concerning the district’s property taxes.
According to District Business Manager Abbey Romagna, the district is going into 2023 on a positive financial note.
After Romagna’s presentation, the board approved a resolution to not raise taxes in the 2023-2024 budget above the PA Department of education limit of 6.1%. Romagna said that it would be a $20 to $25 increase in taxes for the average taxpayer. The resolution also does not lock the district into increasing taxes in next fiscal year’s budget.
In other business, the board approved a contract with Mt. North Counseling and Counseling for student health services through June 30th of 2024. Funds will come from the school’s Mental Health, Safety and Security grant funds.
