Earlier this week, Indiana County District Attorney Bob Manzi appeared on Indiana in the Morning to provide updates on major cases across the county.
One of them was the murder of Hayden Robert Gareffa, in which eight suspects – one being a juvenile – murdered him and left his body in a remote, wooded area in Brush Valley Township in October.
Manzi said when police interviewed the suspects, they alleged that the killing was a form of payback against Gareffa.
Additionally, Manzi said he’s never seen this type of murder before.
All eight suspects were charged with homicide and their cell phones were confiscated for the investigation. All will have preliminary hearings on January 13th in front of Judge Suzanne Steffee. It will be held in courtroom one at the Indiana County Courthouse.
