Prior to last night’s meeting, Indiana Borough council had a public hearing concerning a second property for a Dunkin Donuts location.
This property would sit next door to the current Dollar general market, where the gas pumps for the former GetGo station used to be. Solicitor Pat Dougherty explained the purpose of the hearing.
The motion to allow the parking variance passed unanimously.
During the meeting, Borough council unanimously passed the 2023 budget. It remains unchanged from what was approved for advertisement in November. The budget comes to $5,800,650. About $268,000 from the borough’s reserves will be used to cover the budget deficit, but a half mil tax increase was also approved. Borough manager Nicole Sipos said that that will cover increases in costs for various items, including fuel.
