In addition to the crash reported in Young Township, the busy weekend for first responders continued Sunday and into this morning.
Indiana Fire Association was dispatched to a structure fire at the Burger King restaurant along Oakland Avenue around 12:27 yesterday morning. Officials say it was a grease fire was reported by employees who were in the restaurant at the time, but the flames were contained to the building’s ventilation system. Crews found active fire and smoke upon arrival, but quickly extinguished the fire from the rooftop.
Clymer and Homer City fire departments were called in to assist nearly 20 minutes later. No word on if anyone was injured.
Rossiter Fire Department were called out for the next two calls which turned out to be vehicle accidents. The first was reported at 9:14 a.m. along Millstone Road in Banks Township. Citizens’ Ambulance and state police assisted with that call.
The next crash happened around 11:21 a.m. along Johnsonburg Road in Canoe Township. Central Fire Department, Punxsutawney EMS and state police were called to assist with that call.
State police have not released crash reports for either incident.
Homer City Fire Department was called out against around 12:47 p.m. for an automatic fire alarm activation along Red Maple Drive in Center Township. Fire officials say it was a cooking mishap that triggered the alarm. No details on injuries or damage is available.
Armagh Fire Department would be called for standby detail shortly after midnight this morning along Route 56 East in Westmoreland County.
