This is Trees for Troops donation weekend, and one local Christmas Tree farm in Indiana County is taking part.
Trees for Troops provides free farm-grown Christmas Trees to members of the military and their families. Since 2005 more than 277,000 Christmas trees have been provided to members of the military and their families through Trees for Troops.
The Mytrysak Family Tree Farm on Fleming Road will host activities today from 9-5 today, with trees available for a special price of $45. Each tree will have a tag on it with the donor’s name, and donors will have the opportunity to write their own well wishes to the tree’s recipients.
There will also be several activities throughout the day, including several musical performances, a concession stand, tractor wagon rides, a campfire, a visit from Santa, train rides, and photo opportunities.
