First responders had to deal with several other calls on Friday along with the fire at the apartment complex in Indiana Borough.
Indiana Fire Association members were dispatched for a brush fire on Philadelphia Street in Indiana. That call came in at 5:51 PM. This marks the 72nd reported brush fire for the year in Indiana County.
Multiple fire departments would be called out for a reported structure fire on Old Route 119 in Center Township at 6:18 PM. Homer City fire department was joined by Black Lick, Coral-Graceton, Indiana and Brush Valley. Fire officials said that the fire was out by the time crews got there. The fire was reported as crews were still cleaning up from the fire in Indiana Borough. Homer city fire officials said it was a minor fire reported under the sink.
Finally, Clymer and Cherryhill fire departments were dispatched at 3:12 this morning for an unknown fire on Country Road. Cherryhill Township fire officials say the fire was found in the Timberlake development and it was caused by an arcing power line. REA energy crews will examine the line later today.
