Fire crews were called back out to the site of a house fire twice after the home was destroyed by fire on Saturday.
Crews from the Aultman and Homer City fire departments were called out at 5:04 PM on Saturday after a fire had destroyed a home four hours earlier at a home on Warren Road in Center Township. The fire originally started in the basement-garage area as items around a wood burner caught fire. The home was destroyed and one of the people who lived there was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The second rekindling happened at 2:22 PM on Sunday. Aultman fire department responded at that time.
Aside from the rekindling, Indiana County’s first responders were relatively quiet over the holiday weekend.
On Saturday, a vehicle accident was reported at 5:54 PM on Main Street in Plumville Borough, with the Plumville and Marion Center fire departments dispatched along with Citizen’s Ambulance and State Police. Initial reports said at least one person was trapped in the vehicle at the time. State police have not released a full report on the crash.
Another incident was a vehicle fire reported on Richmond Road in East Mahoning Township. Marion Center was dispatched at 11:50 PM for the fire at the intersection of Richmond and Pickering Run Road.
There was also a report of utility lines down this morning at 3:34 AM on Route 553 in Cherryhill Township. Cherryhill Township fire department was dispatched at that time.
