IUP is gearing up to dedicate one of its newest buildings to a pioneer of the university.
On Monday, the building, formerly known as the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, will be dedicated to Jane E. Leonard, one of the original faculty members of IUP when it was under the name of the Indiana Normal School.
The building was built in 2016, and the IUP Council of Trustees approved the naming in 2021 at the request of Dr. Charles Cashdollar, along with his wife Donna. He said Leonard was an integral part in IUP’s upbringing.
The dedication ceremony will take place Monday at 5:30 p.m. on the IUP campus. It is free and open to the public and will feature remarks from IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll; Dr. Curt Schieb, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities; and Dr. Cashdollar.
