While Thanksgiving normally represents a time of food, fun, and family, some people are unable to enjoy the traditional holiday meal and fellowship that comes with it.
Inflation and short supply have caused some families difficulty in enjoying the normal Thanksgiving dinner, but several community volunteers are teaming up to ensure that no one misses out on a home-cooked meal.
The Coral-Graceton Fire Department is holding a community dinner at the fire hall from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. today. Julie Flowers described how the dinner comes together.
Delivery is available for the dinner. Anyone looking to place an order can call Flowers at 724-549-1690, or call Lisa at 724-349-8808.
Joining Coral-Graceton is the Indiana County Recover Center, which is holding its 2nd “Gobble ‘til you Wobble” Thanksgiving Dinner. This is a free event and it’s located at the Recovery Center at 574 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, and in Suite 201. Doors open at 2:30 with the dinner to follow at 3.
The Salvation Army in Indiana is also hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner today from noon until 2 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 420 Philadelphia Street. Reservations can be made by calling 724-465-2530 extension 10.
Meanwhile, the Chevy Chase Community Center started the holiday yesterday by holding its annual Thanksgiving Dinner yesterday.
