POLICE REPORTS: MARIJUANA POSSESSION, CRASH, THEFT

A Punxsutawney teenager was charged by Indiana Borough Police with marijuana possession stemming from an incident over the weekend.  Police say that officers pulled over a vehicle in the 100 block of South 7^th Street at 12:26 AM on Saturday, November 19^th, and found marijuana and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  The owner of the car, 19-year-old Nashaun Damore, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia through District Judge Guy Haberl’s office.

Indiana Borough Police have released details about a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Philadelphia Street and 4^th Street that happened last week.  Police say that two Jeep SUV’s, driven by Angela Plazio of Apollo and Justin Alter of Clymer, collided at the intersection.  As part of the incident, an electronic control box that controls the traffic control signals at that intersection.  The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and police are reminding people that until the signal is fixed, it will remain a blinking red-light, meaning a four-way stop at the intersection.

Indiana Borough Police are investigating a theft that happened Sunday night.  Police say that officers were called out to the 300 block of South 4^th street for the reported theft of a stop sign at the intersection.  The sign was taken from the intersection of South 4^th and Locust Streets.  The caller was unable to provide a description of the thieves, but did say they got away in a light-colored SUV.  Anyone with information on the theft can call Indiana Borough Police at 724-349-2121.
