UPDATE: Tonight’s Indiana School Board Special Meeting has been cancelled.
District officials say they are not ready to approve the building designs tonight. Even though the special meeting has been called off, the academic committee meeting will go on as scheduled at 5:30. The next board meeting will be November 14th at 7:00 PM.
WHAT WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED
A special meeting of the Indiana School Board is scheduled for tonight, with the focus of the meeting being on the Eisenhower Elementary School Project.
The only motion on the agenda for tonight’s meeting is the approval of the design and development drawings made by Buchart Horn architects for the renovations and additions to the school. The school was heavily damaged by a fire on April 16th of 2021.
This month, several different special meetings on the construction project are expected to be held, including an Act 34 hearing that is scheduled for November 22nd at 6:30 PM at the district board room at the East Pike complex. The hearing will be an opportunity for the public to provide official comment on the project. After that, there will be a 30-day cooling off period before the board gets to vote on whether or not to proceed with the project.
The meeting tonight will start at 5:00 PM at the district board room. The next regular meeting of the school board will be held next Monday, November 14th.
