Emergency services training will be going on today at the main campus of Indiana Regional Medical Center.

The training will be held at IRMC’s Outpatient Services Building, the former Urgi-Care location until 12:30 PM. This means that the primary care Walk-In clinic in the building will be closed along with several administrative departments.
Trooper Cliff Greenfield, public information officer with the state police, says that they have been working with IRMC for months on the training projects, wanting it to make sure that it is the best that it can be. IRMC safety and security officers; IRMC employees; members of the IUP, Indiana and State Police departments, the sheriff’s office and Indiana County 911 will take part in the event.
Greenfield added that the event will be a combination of classroom and practical training that will be presented by the state police Special Emergency Response Team.
There will be no live ammunition used in the exercise. Visitors may see some law enforcement and emergency services-related activity in the building. People will be asked to follow temporary signs to the parking areas. For assistance, people can call 724-357-7000.
One other note: the emergency department will remain open for medical emergencies and will not be affected by the training activity.
