A former Blairsville man has been sentenced in federal court for unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition. 37-year-old Justin McConnell was ordered on Thursday to serve 18 months in prison plus a year of supervised release for having a pistol and ammo, which were seized from his home by agents with the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole on October 2nd, 2019.
McConnell had previously been convicted of incest in a case from 2007. As a convicted felon, he is prohibited from having firearms or ammunition. The investigation was part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program to reduce violent crime and gun violence.
