WEST SHAMOKIN DROPS OUT OF D6 SOCCER TOURNEY, UNITED YET TO PLAY

The District 6 soccer tournament got underway yesterday.  Two Heritage Conference teams are in the six-team field in Class A.  Fifth seed Bald Eagle Area nipped fourth seed West Shamokin, 1-0, yesterday.  Number six Bishop Carroll clipped number three Forest Hills, 2-1, and will move on to play second seeded United, which had a first round bye.  That game will be at Richland tomorrow.

The long-awaited bike-pedestrian bridge across Route 22 is now open! What do you think?

I love it! It will help bring more economic activity to Indiana County!
I love it! It's much needed for the safety of folks to link the trails and access both sides of that busy highway.
I love it for both of the reasons listed above (as long as they maintain it.)
It's not going to be the economic boon they're saying it will be.
Not enough people will use it to have an effect on safety.
It will not be maintained and will fall into disuse rather quickly.
