With gas demand remaining low, national and state-wide gas price averages are going down slowly.
The average cost of a gallon of gas across the nation dropped by two cents over the last 24 hours to $3.80, according to Triple-A. Over the last week, it has gone down nine cents, but it has gone up 14 cents over the last month. Demand for gas went up by only 400,000 barrels to 8.68 million barrels a day, and total domestic gas stocks went down slightly by 100,000 barrels. Those factors along with fluctuating crude oil prices have led to the national average going down.
Pennsylvania’s average went down over the last 24 hours as well by nearly a penny to $3.93 a gallon. It is two cents lower than last week, but it is ten cents higher than last month at this time.
Indiana County’s average this morning is $3.96 a gallon this morning, tying it with Westmoreland and Cambria Counties. The lowest average in the region is Jefferson at $3.85, while Armstrong and Clearfield Counties each report a $3.89 average this morning.
Prices in Indiana, Clymer, Blairsville and Homer City this morning range from $3.95 to $3.99 a gallon, according to Gasbuddy.com
